The primary job function is to assist in the co-ordination of a project team managing the
development, extension and improvement of park and leisure sites.
The post holder will be responsible to the Projects Manager for assistance in strategic
organization and service delivery of construction projects in parks, open spaces and
leisure facilities. They will also be responsible for managing projects of their own, and for
playing a lead role in the procurement and administration of construction contracts in the
public realm. They will contribute to the measurement and improvement of performance
through analysis and planning of the team’s actions, financial monitoring, cataloguing and
promoting its ability to effectively address the council’s priorities and objectives and other
floor targets through its actual project delivery. The post holder will be responsible for
making decisions regarding the redevelopment of public open spaces, in line with a
strategic framework and policies, which may have a significant degree of political impact.
